Our premium Japanese sencha is shaded for five days before harvest resulting in the leaves having a deep green colour. The shade grown process encourages the tea leaves to produce higher levels of chlorophyll and amino acids, resulting in a greener brew. When steeped, it has a soft, green infusion. The taste starts off slightly sweet and balanced, with a lingering umami taste and notes of dried seaweed.
