Silver needle is a prized white tea, often understood to be the best white tea. It consists entirely of buds picked before the leaves have time to bloom. Silver needle gets its name from the snow white and silver colour of the dry buds. Hailing from Zheng He city in Fujian province, our silver needle gets its unique flavour because of the time at which it is picked. The tea is generally picked early in the harvesting season. The teas signature sweet and crisp flavour comes from the extra shot of glucose and chlorophyll it receives to help the leaves bloom. The taste is light at first but quickly evolves and turns into a sweet flavour reminiscent of honey and fresh cut grass. The aroma is quite sweet and evokes memories of bakeries.
